During my studies, I took a course in Graphics for the Web at UoK.
One assignment was to redesign their website, with two different approaches. Second assignment was a site for a fictional collaboration between UoK & NASA.
Not my most complex or recent work but something that sparked an interest in information architecture.
As can be seen, there was a lot of information to be rearranged. What I first spotted was that it was difficult to distinguish links and information due to the order of things and an exaggerated use of images.
Here, I focused on information architecture and based the hierarchy on the main users; existing and potential students. By mapping different sets of information and by not using photos, I managed to create a more visible F-layout, hoping to allow the user to easily find what they most probably would be looking for. I also took the liberty of changing the logo to fit the rest of the design better.
The second part was for more of an experimental approach. I tried to challenge myself by using less colors to present a more playful look, focusing more on the use of icons and the sole visual appeal.
In this assignment, I was asked to design a fictional page for a course made in collaboration with NASA. I focused on CTA, F-layout, Z-layout and hierarchy. I also added "breadcrumbs" for usability.
